    Senior Civil Engineer
Department Of Transport And Main Roads Jun 2014 - Aug 2017
In addition to the opportunity, this move to the sunshine coast was motivated by a particular desire for my children's schooling. I first learnt about detailed traffic engineering, optimisation of standard processes and effective stakeholder (mostly LGAs and developers) engagement techniques. It wasn't long before I was drawn toward, in my opinion, one of the most dynamic, skilful and exciting traffic modelling teams in Australia (at the time). The combination of old and new heads being rigorous and hardworking toward outcomes for the district was such an inspiration. In trying to meet the needs of generating a win win situation for all stakeholder amidst growth I knew we needed to incorporate demand modelling into our practices and I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to lead the conversion of the Moreton Bay Strategic Transport Model. • Adg Engineers
    Civil/Environmental Engineer
    Adg Engineers Jan 2012 - Jun 2014
    Brisbane, Australia
At ADG I learnt how to be a consultant. I was taught how to have a high level of respect and support for any client. I learnt about water sensitive urban design, urban site infrastructure and connection design, 1D/2D flood modelling, Water and wastewater infrastructure master planning, infrastructure agreement negotiations, infrastructure staging optimisation.
  • Bechtel Corporation
    Civil Engineer
    Bechtel Corporation Jan 2011 - Dec 2011
At Bechtel I learnt how to eat an elephant. The scale of the system, the projects within it, and the company's ability to almost organically grow and decay in it's presence across the world to suit the needs at the time amazed me. I worked on one of the smaller jobs in the BMA hub and got to learn more in civil design (using Bentley Inroads + Microstation instead of 12D/cad now), contract administration and mining scale infrastructure planning and design.
  • Douglas Partners Pty Ltd
    Geo-Technical Engineer
Douglas Partners Pty Ltd Aug 2009 - Dec 2010
Fresh from Uni this role taught me a great deal about geology and methods for reasoning with imperfect data. I gained this sense of making the most of what I could get and for the rest to just use my intuition and being clear and quick whenever risks are perceived. This job was my first foray into formal engineering reporting, major construction site work, but most notably for me GIS, when I pounced on on opportunity to run a large scale mining slope stability model using SAGA. • Sinclair Knight Merz
    Civil Draftsperson
Sinclair Knight Merz Jan 2005 - Jul 2006
    Brisbane, Australia
This role taught me how to think and design in 3d and also how computer models and structured documentation are the key to facilitating coordination and communication at a great level of complexity for a large amount of essential and desired outcomes.
