Mitchell is a recent graduate in Product Development Engineering (M.S.) at the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering where he also graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering on a full-tuition Trustee Scholarship.In his undergraduate career, Mitchell was involved with several research projects with a focus on computational modeling. This ranged from biological molecules involved in the CRISPR-Cas 9 system to single atom metal catalysts (SACs) used for the production of hydrogen fuel. He learned computer languages on the spot along with graduate level Statistical and Quantum Mechanics to eventually initiate independent research projects and be awarded Fellowships and Grants from the University. While in school, Mitchell was actively involved in many aspects of USC including Greek Life, societies and clubs, and volunteering. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta and was the first Director of Sustainability on the Interfraternity Council, a member of AIChE, a member of the Ski and Snowboard Team, and a volunteer at the Joint Educational Project of USC.Outside of school, Mitchell has gained experience in both Process Development and Process Engineering. Through a Process Development and Engineering internship at Amyris, he worked in the lab, the pilot plant, and the office developing downstream operations for a novel, organic compound synthesized through yeast fermentation. Mitchell then worked as a Process Engineering (Professional Development Program) Intern at BASF where he assisted on the commissioning of a new Graft Polyol production system while supporting current Conventional and Graft Polyol production.Currently, Mitchell works at Catalent Pharma Solutions as a Project Manager for the Clinical Development and Supply Services business. There, he develops clinical, stability, and commercial packaging protocols for strategic GMP production planning.
