Counselling graduate currently working as a youth coach in the TTW program for MEGT. My interest in this area stems from a desire to assist adolescent individuals experiencing distress in developing self-efficacy and flexible mental capacity as they move through the tumultuous stage of adolescent development. Furthermore, I have adopted an integrative approach to my practice incorporating various counselling models such as CBT, SBT, Narrative, and Acceptance therapy as I was attracted to these approaches throughout my studies and consider them versatile in addressing the needs of young people I assist now matter their context or current situation. In addition, I was able to complete my placement at Arcadia College on the Gold Coast which provided me with valuable experience moving into my desired field. I was able to progress further by taking on the role of a residential youth worker when completing my degree, which has provided me with further learning opportunities and experience in dealing with young individuals experiencing significant emotional distress expressing complex behaviours and needs.
