Working for Lorne Geoscience to help assist in Jellinbah's ESG drilling program. This involved Q1 gas desorption testing, as well as coal quality sampling and logging.

Exploration/core logging geologist and graduate underground geologist at Aurelia's Dargues Reef Mine.

Working alongside and overseeing a drill crew, logging and sampling of chips and core, locating and pegging drill pads and arranging pad preparation and access. Transferring raw data gathered from the logging of core into digital data to be corrected against a geophysical log of the borehole after each hole was completed. Rig inspections, SLAMS, prestarts and weekly toolboxes to ensure compliance with Jellinbah safety standards.

Contracting to South32 Illawarra coal. On a surface rig, logging/ sampling core and gas desorption testing of coal seams (Q1&Q2). Point load and hydrocarbon testing in a core shed.

Management and supervision of an RC rig as part of Evolution’s Mungari Resource Definition team. Logging and sampling of chips, ensuring sample quality and consistency throughout each hole as well as locating and pegging drill pads. Communication between field teams, surveyors and drillers was essential to ensure tracks and pads were cleared on time, and holes were surveyed as the program progressed. Rig inspections were required, along with safety interactions to ensure compliance with Evolution standards.

A 20,000m diamond drill exploration program targeting VMS Zinc-Copper lens’s at Herons Woodlawn project in the Lachlan fold belt of NSW. My main roles involved orientation/meter marking of core, RQD/core recovery as well as logging and sampling core. During the program I worked as both a field assistant as well as a geologist and gained a greater understanding of the exploration process as a whole.

A member of an exploration team in northwest Queensland my role included the management of a Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drill rig, logging the supergene zone of the regolith, focusing on the type and intensity of oxidation, mineral occurrences, as well as determining the end of the hole once fresh rock was reached. Greenfield exploration required the use of maps and Gps to navigate the large tenement area and locate planned holes.
