Joined West Midlands Police, the countries second largest police force, aged 20 in April 2005. I worked for 5 years a response police officer, attending emergency incidents around East Birmingham. In 2013 I moved to the Central Motorway Police Group as a Force Traffic Officer where I trained in Police Advanced Driving, Motorcycling, the use of Tactical Pursuit and Containment as well as numerous other qualifications required within the role. That role was a faced paced and dynamic one. Where I would have to make split second descions. It also included attending and investigating serious injury and fatal collisions. The work of me and my team was recognised numerous times and featured on numerous TV shows and the incidents often attracted media attention. In 2019 I passed the PC - Sergeant examination and became a Temporary sergeant in my traffic officer role, both on Roads Policing but also on the Central Motorway Police Group. I was successful in the promotion process in 2021 and became a Police Sergeant on Force Response.I also qualified as a Level 2 Public order Sgt and have lead teams during the COP26 conferences, and had a key role in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Policing Operation. In October of 2022 I accepted a position on a newly set up Vehicle Crime Taskforce. This was set up in response to the high vehicle crime rate in the Midlands.I led the team on a number of successful operations. Our work drew favourable feedback from the Command Team at WMP, the public and media outlets nationally. The work we set up there led to good working relations with JLR and other auto manufacturers. I have now passed my Inspectors exam and am working towards gaining promotion to the next rank later in 2023.Away from policing I am a Level 1 football coach and lead a team of U'8s in their footballing journey. I will be continuing my coaching journey as soon as time allows and would like to complete my next Coaching badges.I have recently taken on the role of Club Secretary at Heather St Johns FC (MFL Div 1) and I am very much enjoying my new role in football, having been away from the game because of work for a number of years.
