Provided leadership and training to subordinates and assisted in the installation of communications equipment that included Cisco switches, routers, servers, and the Advance Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and JADOCS (Joint Advance Deep Operations Communication System) to include Effects Management tool software for tracking incoming artillery. Conducted upgrades both software, and hardware to standards. Worked closely with Fire Support Officer’s to set up the JADOCS server and client workstations. Worked as a JADOCS administrator for 1st BDE 1st CAV Fire Support Units during OIF 2, Iraqi freedom, OIF 06-08 and OIF 09-10. Installed and terminated Cat 5 and Cat 6 LAN cable for both Cisco switches and the JADOCS system using precision tools, and equipment.

Supervised and trained a small team, in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground, aerial cable, and switchboard installation to insure communication for the unit. Directed the installation of terminal and junction boxes to standards. Conducted classes on installation of various types of telephone systems.

In this position support, maintenance, and installation was implemented for all communications and auxiliary systems to include but not limited to satellite internet communications equipment. Conducted site and compound clean-up and site security checks. Oversaw maintenance and repair of communication equipment by other facility contractors as directed by the government. Supported periodic teleconferences with system managers to convey situational awareness of site conditions and issues.
