I am currently working as a SAS Consultant for a large UK Banking Client. The role involves using SAS to transform data and produce complex financial calculations regarding impact populations and account redress. I also work closely with Business teams to provide ad-hoc data requests through SAS EG. This role utilises all my past training, including Base SAS Certification, SAS Macros and SQL to build SAS programs in the production environment daily. Prior to this role, I was assigned to a mortgage migration project as Systems Analyst for 9 months. The project commenced early in 2015 so grasping the current shape of the project was a challenging task. I settled in comfortably however, and worked within a broad team of analysts, using workshops and other elicitation techniques to gather information from technical experts and feed back into the business model. My first role was as a Requirements Analyst on a sizeable digitising project, looking at several upgrades to a Banking Mobile App. The task involved translating Business Requirements into feasible IT Requirements, under strict time and cost constraints. The project has since gone live successfully.After my yearlong Graduate Scheme, I was successfully promoted, being placed in the highest band (Band A) for my performance since joining Sopra Steria.While at Sopra Steria, I have completed: Base SAS Certification - November 2015 (97%) BCS ISTQB Certified Business Analysis Foundation Level – October 2015 (85%) SAS SQL 1: Essentials SAS Macros 1: Essentials BCS Business Analysis Practice (BAP) Qualification

This part-time job involved basic bar work; serving beverages, hot and cold food and waiter service. I was also put in charge of stock and supply management.During my time at the club it became clear to me that all customers were of a specific age group; the club was relatively unknown to students and young professionals. As President of the University of Manchester Bridge Society, I seized this opportunity to offer cheap bridge to my society members while simultaneously creating a new audience for the social club I worked at.I headed a meeting with the club owners suggesting a variety of promotional offers throughout the week - emphasising when students would be most likely to play - to offer students an environment to learn bridge, as well as compete, at a price that was affordable on tighter budgets. Not only did this surge popularity on Tuesday and Thursday nights, but at the University we used these offers to help entice students to join our Society. Spending summer as a construction worker offered a new work environment and a chance to experience new challenges. The job involved extending a kitchen under strict time-scales and long hours. Among material prep and site organisation, I took charge of logistics throughout the site to ensure the team were successful in hitting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.During my time at the company, I noticed a lacking social platform through which the company could leverage its reputation and secure new business further afield. I took on the role of social media manager, creating www.grbbuilding.co.uk using the skills I had obtained through my first year of university. In this month-long work experience I shadowed several workers at the site monitoring system levels such as pressure and pH, which was vital to keep the breakdown process working effectively and efficiently.I worked on removal of waste, which was collected by farmers to be used as compost, as well as assisting with the initial start-up of the generators on site. I voluntarily attended several meetings during my time there to learn more about similar initiatives across the country.Skills gained:TeamworkCommerical Awareness
