Now in my 4th season volunteering within the media team at Ayr United FC. I began at the beginning of season 21/22 working as a co commentator on the Pay Per View live streams. . Since then, I’ve conducted pre and post match interviews, press conferences, and developed my knowledge of production techniques. As the time has progressed, I have developed a good understanding of camera operation, setup and production of sound having been lead cameraman over season 23/24 at home and away matches, filming for the club highlights package as well as live stream, requiring me to take the initiative on setup, camera angle etc. I now have my own interview series, “Mitch Meets”, where I chat with club legends including the likes of Ryan Stevenson, Nicky Devlin, Craig Conway, Alan Rough and Andy Walker. This series has been running since the beginning of the 22/23 season. In the summer of 2023, I accepted the role of being one of the new Scottish Football Association Youth Ambassadors of Change. I have since written match reports for the SFA website on international matches, assisted with the delivery of the Business Club at Hampden, operated the media accreditation desk on matchdays, helped in the VIP ticket uplift section as well as attending the M&S photo shoot day for their pre Euro 2024 advert, along with some of the Men’s A squad. I’ve also written articles on my local tennis club, Ayr Lawn TC, which have been published in local news outlets such as the Ayrshire Post and the Alloway and Doonfoot Going Out magazine. On a part-time basis, I assist in the licensed, Chestnuts Hotel in Ayr, serving members of the public on weeknights and at weekends. Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Qualified Level One Assistant Coach. I obtained this qualification whilst still at school. At the same time I was working during the week at my local tennis club helping out the head coach, dealing with all ages and abilities and trying to support participants in the best way possible. Second year student, studying Journalism, Media and Communication with Politics and International Relations at the University of Strathclyde.
