Better Community Neighborhoods, Inc, (BCNI) was formed by the merger of two existing not for profit agencies in Schenectady; Better Neighborhoods, Inc. and the Community Land Trust of Schenectady. The newly formed agency agency is focused on making a transformational change to neighborhoods in Schenectady thru the development and support of affordable housing initiatives. Mitch Grossman was formerly the Assistant Director of Better Neighborhoods, Inc with responsibility to manage daily agency operations and oversee multiple departments and staff. As the BCNI Director of Property Operations Mr. Grossman manages the agencies existing portfolio of affordable rental properties and works in conjunction with the agency and community partners to increase agency capacity, create long term agency stability, and increase the availability of professionally managed, 21st Century affordable rental units in Schenectady, NY. This includes participation in development of new housing initiatives and the development of options for financing that include LIHTC, SRPLP, ESSHI, and other Federal State and provide funding sources. Mr. Grossman oversees regulatory compliance where applicable and has full responsibility for departmental internal and external financial controls.

Provide consultation services for out of area banking and investor firms on the Capital District market and specific property analysis. Created a specialty in the non profit market with experience in coordinating OMRDD, OCFS, State Education Dept. regulations in development of site selection and approval for new programs.

A Broker with Hunt Commercial Real Estate which merged with TL Metzger & Associates, LLC. in June 2010. Developed a portfolio of customers with demonstrated expertise in representing both buyers and sellers in all facets of commercial real estate. Provide consultation services for out of area banking and investor firms on the Capital District market and specific property analysis. Created a specialty in the non profit market with experience in coordinating OMRDD, OCFS, State Education Dept. regulations in development of site selection and approval for new programs.

Directly managed a multi million dolar independent pharmacy. Responsible for the growth and expansion of this unique business model in spite of the highly regulated and competitive retail pharmacy industry. Developed and maintained strategic relationships with long term care facilities to provide medication and consultation. Accountable for all banking, administration, and financial reporting for internal and external sources. Developed policies and procedures for compliance with Federal regulations regarding Narcotics, Privacy and Security. Negotiated all insurance company contracts.
