It is part of the sixth largest communications group in the world and won a gold Cannes Lion in 2013.Graduate Intern: a six-week rotation including two weeks in PR, project management and account management and planning.• Completed a planning based project and presented this to the board of directors, including the CEO.• Wrote a press release for Staples and produced a blog post for Reckitt Benckiser which was published on their careers website.• Produced a competitor research report on the Scotch Whisky market for Chivas Regal.• Prepared boards for a pitch and helped to present creative ideas to Pernod Ricard for a re-launch of one of their whisky brands. • Suggested copy for a Peugeot print ad, which was then used in a pitch.• Brainstormed ideas for an experiential campaign for Peugeot.• Beat hundreds of graduates in a rigorous applications process which included producing a creative application form and completing three interviews,

The University of Manchester Students’ Union is the largest students’ union in the country supporting 40,000 students. Its activities include commercial venues, shops, fundraising, voluntary work, political campaigning and student advice.Communications and PR Assistant: responsible for traditional PR, social media and all digital communications.• Led and implemented the PR strategy for the ‘Reclaim the Night’ music festival and political march. Gained coverage online and in the local media including the Manchester Evening News. Achieved a total AVE of £22,000.• Briefed members of the executive leadership team in preparation for interviews with BBC News and Radio 5 live.• Drew up an integrated communications plan for a collaborative campaign involving the Police and three students’ unions.• Devised and implemented evidence based social media guidelines and saw average engagement with our posts increase from 0.24% to over 0.8%.• Used Gorkana’s media monitoring service to evaluate the success of our PR campaigns.• Allocated the budget for the ‘Get on Your Bike’ cycling campaign and briefed graphic designers on the creative work.• Speedily and successfully self taught how to write html marketing emails without prior experience. SONS Records is an independent record label based in Stoke-on-Trent.• Increased the number of Facebook likes by more than 350. • Created content for the website, social media and blogs in order to strengthen the brand image of the record label.
