I am a motivated and enthusiastic educator with sixteen years’ experience working in government schools in two different states within Australia. From working in diverse and challenging education environments, where various barriers affect students’ learning, I have become an adaptable and flexible educator who prides myself on empowering all students to become independent learners, equipped to face any challenge in life through social & emotional learning and the development of 21st Century skills.I am passionate in a holistic approach to teaching students and using positive education to improve learning outcomes, as well as developing the needs of staff to improve their own teaching practices. I have had the opportunity to co-present at both the European Conference for Education Research & the Australian Association for Research in Education, as well as record an upcoming episode for Madonna King's podcast - Podclass; on the topic of student voice and wellbeing, through my involvement and collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology's Wellbeing Matters project.
