These vehicles were damaged in the last Afghan war and were brought back to the UK. We worked in small teams of four, the vehicles were completely stripped to a bare shell and re-built into the mark 2 version of the Mastiff. Reading schematic diagrams, drilling and grinding through heavy armor, re-laying and modifying wiring looms as well as re-fitting engines/transfers/axles/armor and dashboard controls were all part of the process. I was also asked to support the Rapid Trident Mission in Ukraine, a colleague and myself were sent there from Germany with 24-armored HMMWV while the training commenced, we had to make repairs in the field with limited tools and parts to make sure the vehicles where kept mission capable.
