I am an aspiring veterinarian with a deep passion for shelter medicine, animal welfare, and community outreach. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Applied Nutrition at Ohio University, I have been dedicated to both academic excellence and hands-on veterinary experience. My goal is to attend veterinary school and specialize in shelter medicine, where I can contribute to high-volume, high-quality care for animals in need and promote sustainable practices in animal rescue.With extensive experience working as a veterinary assistant in various clinics, including Columbus Humane, Athens County Humane Society, and Ohio Wildlife Center, I have honed my skills in surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, patient care, and fieldwork alongside cruelty investigation teams. As a foster and volunteer, I’ve provided intensive care for geriatric and high-needs animals, enriching my understanding of behavioral assessments and modifications.I am committed to leveraging my Presidential role within the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club, Bobcats of the Shelter Dogs, and All 9 Lives to promote humane practices, including Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, foster networks, and volunteer engagement. My research background further fuels my interest in zoonotic diseases and public health, emphasizing the need for collaboration between shelter medicine and community well-being.
