I am a biomedical educator and scientist who believe that excellence in both teaching and research can be achieved through synergy and application.My biomedical research interests have focused on translational aspects of dementia neurochemistry and pathophysiology, employing a multi-modal approach including animal model & in-vitro mechanistic studies, postmortem clinicopathologic investigations, as well as clinical biomarker discovery & development. More recently, I have been interested in deciphering the processes and biomarkers underlying brain and cognitive resilience. As a biomedical educator, I have been involved in teaching and curricula development of pharmacology for nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, medical and life science students. My interests in the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning include the assessment of new integrated healthcare curricula and technology aided pedagogy.
