Within this role, I was responsible for creating and conducting activities for Tender Mercies residents. A large part of this position was creating spaces and opportunities for residents to be engaged with their community and surrounding environments. A few of the activities/events throughout the summer include trips to Krohn Conservatory, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and local parks, to name a few. Along with these activities that took place outside of Tender Mercies, within Tender Mercies buildings I held bunny therapy sessions, plant propagation classes, bingo games, meals, etc. I was able to learn incredibly useful skills such as conflict management, working within high-pressure environments/situations, project management, productive communication, leadership, and teamwork.

My student assistant position in the political science department at Miami University mainly deals with the administrative needs of students and faculty. The responsibilities that come with the position include in-person and over-the-phone communication with faculty, students, and families, along with clerk duties such as photocopying course materials, assisting faculty with projects, department planning and organization, etc.

As an intern with the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, I was able to experience many facets of our government at the local level. Within this internship, I worked alongside the IT department in analyzing and organizing Hamilton County's courthouse technology systems, creating an email migration plan, assisting in the implementation of new technologies, etc. There were numerous additional facets of the internship as well, including reviewing, digitally recording, and redacting Clerk of Courts documents such as evictions, garnishments, and trial records. I also had the opportunity to sit in on docket hearings, criminal trials, and was able to assist in the juror selection process. During this internship, my eyes were opened to the depth and complexity of our government.
