In my current role, I am currently on two different development teams. One is working on updating and maintaining legacy products while the other team is building a new product from the ground up. Being able to switch between legacy code and new barebones code has been a difficult yet extremely rewarding experience. It has taught me the importance of staying flexible as a developer.

Created custom React components for multiple websites capable of charting commercial real estate data. While I focused on front-end development, I still worked across the entire stack. This involved managing data tables in SQL Server Management Studio, making API requests with C# in .NET, and creating interactive interfaces using TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS with React. We had an "Accessibility First" mindset during development to account for different screen sizes, devices, languages, and impairments.

Created and maintained over 20 portfolio sites written with React. Catered to the requirements of each client while still abstracting out common layout components and sharing them between sites and hosted it all on S3 buckets.

After the end of my co-op, I took on a more leadership role by being a Project Manager for a team of co-ops and interns. This team worked on multiple different projects to improve the company’s internal config manager. The first was a “Smart Highlighting” project that would compare two XML config files and dynamically highlight all the differences between them. We also implemented an “Autocomplete” search feature for attaching tags to config settings. This involved providing the user with a list of suggestions that tries to guess what tag they are currently typing. Once the user selects a tag, it is added to a box that displays all of the currently added tags. Each of the listed tags has a delete button allowing the user to easily remove unwanted tags.

Agile environment with 2 week sprints. I joined the company when they were in the middle of transitioning from AngularJS to Angular 8 and thus much of my work consisted of updating the code base to use the newer framework. Through this experience, I learned the many differences between AngularJS and Angular 2+ versions. I used TypeScript, HTML, LESS, and later SCSS when we updated our style sheets. I also used C# and SQL when I was involved with back-end development because we used the .NET framework and Microsoft SQL Server.

Developed and tested SSRS Reports using C#, SQL, Python, TFS, and Selenium in a professional corporate environment. In addition, I helped the IT team with imaging computers using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit while also resolving hardware and software issues the team would experience. Working with both software and hardware for the first time in a professional environment taught me foundational aspects required to produce a proficient technical team.

Worked with Game Design majors to bring their ideas to life through Rapid Prototyping. Used Unity to develop the games, mainly writing code in C#. Learned to be flexible and always be willing to change the project should it fit the needs of the client better.
