As a Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering Intern at GKN I worked on cost savings solutions while integrating automated systems. I was also in charge of managing quite a few industrial design projects in which I created pick and place grippers, as well as sensor brackets, and other various items in the modeling system known as NX. Along with these small scale items I was to manage multiple plant layout drawings in which there were many meetings with contractors who would make the changes proposed. In addition, I was an integral part of setting up and running off CNC Murata Lathes while also maintaining and operating these lathes.

While interning at Alpha as a Manufacturing Engineer I was given the great opportunity to work on several projects during my time with the company. Many of these projects were very engaging by applying technical knowledge to hands on applications. The project that endured the full two years required me to find and convert as many tool drawings as possible from a 2D drawing in ME 10 to 3D CAD model in Solid Edge. Also I was responsible for working on the creation of automation cells to focus on a One Piece Flow style of production.
