I completed preliminary literature gathering, data collection, and data analysis across three supervision cycles as a graduate assistant in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Justice. Under Dr. Berry I conducted systematic literature reviews of employment pipelines for principals of color and the impact of slavery and racism on that pipeline through time. Under Drs. Shakeshaft and Newcomb I conducted literature reviews of gender equity in higher education leadership and hiring, specifically related to the Ivory Tower concept, and evaluated legal cases for a qualitative study of best practices for reporting red flags of employee sexual misconduct in K-12 schools. Currently, under Dr. Castro, I am completing research on teacher workforce diversity and trends, and writing a research paper qualitatively analyzing public comments in response to school rezoning efforts in two local school districts.

Participated in several research projects evaluating local educational programs under the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium (MERC). Specifically worked on:"Understanding Racial Inequity in School Discipline Across the Richmond Region" (2019),"Phase 1 of the Behavior Learning Intervention and Support Services (BLISS) program evaluation" (2020),"The CodeRVA Third Year Report" (2020), and"The Analyzing Advanced Placement (AP)L Making the Nation's Most Prominent COllege Prepatory Program More Equitable report" (2021)

In-context internship conducting research and evaluation work with HCPS' Division of Assessment, Research, and Evaluation. As part of this internship, I took field noted and conducted 1-1 and focus group interviews to evaluate the condition of the Executive Education (Special Education) department. Other activities included taking interview notes, gathering and organizing survey data, coding and analyzing focus group interviews, and writing reports based on qualitative and quantitative data.

Conducted qualitative interview research at YouthNex to investigate racial identity development and social network development in early adolescent youth. Examined and organized documents for systematic literature reviews.
