Music Academy International Foundation is the premiere young artist performance and training program in Europe. The Trentino Music Festival provides a vibrant environment for vocal, theatrical, and musical training for the next generation of performing artists, enabling them to thrive in the multifaceted world of a professional musician. MAI’s performance programs are designed to provide the young artists with a nurturing atmosphere in which to gain the technical and business skills necessary for such a momentous career. The festival presents over fifty orchestra and chamber music concerts, operas, and Broadway musicals each summer featuring both professional artists, and young artists. Since 2000 Music Academy International Foundation has provided over 1500 young artists with more than three million dollars in scholarships, awards, and grants.

During my tenure at The Hartt School I oversaw a period of tremendous growth in the area of graduate opera. These accomplishments were possible through major recruiting efforts, development of adequate budgeting and financial resources, artistic staffing, and a revitalized curriculum that met the needs of the emerging professional artist. As chairman I put in place an aggressive recruitment program that maintained a very high standard for quality of applicant, while addressing the need to provide scholarships for financially deserving individuals. While at The Hartt School I produced fully staged productions including: Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, The Rape Of Lucretia, Susannah, and the Dialogues of the Carmelites.Graduates were accepted into young artist programs with the Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Chataqua Opera and have won such prestigious competitions as the Lauren Zachery Competition, the Elardo International Opera Competition, Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition and the George London Foundation.

Provided voice instruction in classical voice and musical theater for undergraduate and graduate opera students. Provided weekly master classes and advising of graduate level students.

Professional debut with the Connecticut Opera in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in 1988. Appeared in leading roles in Samson et Delilah, Faust, Manon, Carmen, I Pagliacci, Don Carlo, Tosca, Ariadne auf Naxos, Der Freischütz, Salome, and Fidelio. Performed extensively in concert with such noted conductors as Robert Wagner, John Aldis, Maurice Peress and Michael Palmer. New York appearances include Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, under the baton of Sir Yehudi Menuhin at Avery Fisher Hall, Mozart's Missa Brevis, in association with the Mozart Bicentennial at Lincoln Center at Alice Tully Hall, and Bach's Mass in B Minor with the late Robert Shaw. Performed as a soloist with the Consortium Felicianum Orchestra throughout Germany and France, performances with the symphonies of Kansas City, Wichita, Hartford, and Heidelberg, Germany.
