As a Co-op Process Engineer with Teck Coal my work was mainly around the wash plant. Here I collected daily/weekly samples at different stages in the process to analyze how the equipment and feed were operating. I was also tasked with updating the production spreadsheet and reporting the previous days production in the morning meeting.Other tasks during the 8 months included:- Using problem solving and analytical skills along with and economic knowledge on various projects to identify how Fording River could save money.- Completing inspections on numerous equipment during scheduled maintenance days.- Correcting old P&ID sheets of the wash plant.- Assisting other co-workers on their projects when required.- Attending monthly safety meetings and reporting incidents.- Giving guided tours of the wash plant.- Created a water balance of the wash plant by using instrumentation and general mass balance knowledge to provide detailed water usage information to management.
