I create and troubleshoot MMSD data input and collection services using various application environments like R, SQL Server, Proficy Historian, Hach WIMS, and Flowlink).- Responsible for regulatory reporting to WDNR and overflow monitoring.- Fulfill internal and external data requests of varying complexity (simple site flow data to more advanced wastewater treatment processes).- Develop data tools and methodology for processing and analyzing environmental data. Includes the development of custom R packages. - Communicate across departments and agencies to complete vastly diverse project scopes. Examples include analyzing conveyance system for dramatic slope changes or drops for robotic pipe inspections, select site suitability and equipment for monitoring projects, map at risk PCB pipe sections, and compare discrepancies in field measurements and As-built plans to modeling software inputs.
Monitoring/Sampling Technician
Increased my responsibility and job scope from an intern to that of a full technician. Built on skills learned as an intern for daily field monitoring of District combined/sanitary conveyance system. Utilized a vast array of environmental monitoring and sampling techniques to supply the district with accurate data related to sewer conveyance monitoring, municipal flow billing efforts, and water quality/quantity analysis of greater Milwaukee watershed rivers and groundwater wells. Protected the wastewater treatment process and Lake Michigan through industrial waste enforcement sampling.
Monitoring/Sampling Intern
- Hands on training in collection of industrial waste, groundwater, storm water and SSO/CSO samples. - Worked with specialists programming and installing flow meters, samplers, water quality equipment, sondes, rain gauges, piezometers, and data-loggers. - Experience with EPA/DNR sampling techniques and sanitary/combined sewer conveyance system.
