My career has focused on excellence in patient care, clinical and translational research in hematologic malignancies, 19 years at Fox Chase Cancer Center, followed by 5 years at the Cleveland Clinic. After 4 years as Associate Cancer Center Director for Clinical Investigations at the nascent GW Cancer Center, creating the Clinical Trials Office and research infrastructure, I am privileged to now be the Chief Medical Officer of the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation (FLF). This organization is focused on stimulating and supporting patient-centered research focused on follicular lymphoma, and leveraging new insights from biology and novel agents in a Precision Medicine approach to improve therapy, and ultimately cure patients who have FL. Since taking this CMO position, I have provided oversight for the scientific direction of the FLF, leading to awarding $2M in the initial cycle of our CURE-FL program, and now having announced a larger 2nd cycle in partnership with the LLS. We continue to work to fund other trials in FL as well. As part of the FLF I have chaired educational sessions in 2023: the 1st International Summit on FL in Israel, and a forward-looking Symposium at the ICML meeting in Lugano “What will it take to Cure FL?”I am pleased to be leveraging my skills in clinical oncology, translation research and administration to accelerate progress in FL.
