I started out part time as a welder helper for Wilson Welding 2006. I moved up to welder in 2008. I gained experience with GMAW for welding structures and welded piping for tank batteries and a local bio diesel plant using SMAW. We also fabricated many parts for drilling rigs and rebuilt 3 drilling rigs. I eventually went to work for National Beef Packing in the special projects department as a welder. We installed augurs, gear boxes, catwalks, stairs, and piping systems. We used GTAW, SMAW and GMAW on stainless and carbon steels. I moved over to Seaboard Foods in grounds maintenance where we fabricated and repaired equipment for the pig farms. I eventually went back to work for Wilson Welding where I was able to receive several welding certifications and pipeline experience. I’ve also helped build mud pits, silos, installed well heads, and experience with hydro vacs for line spotting. I was involved in the construction of a bioferm for High Plains Bio Energy, which takes methane gas and converts it to natural gas. It involved multiple pipe grades from A333 to stainless 316L. It was NDT using ASME B31.3 specs.
