As Lab Manager and Scientist with EnteroTrack, I am responsible for managing the clinical lab and performing research and development for novel medical devices. In the clinical lab, I manage laboratory personnel to ensure patient samples are processed and reported correctly and stay up to date on CAP/CLIA regulations and quality management. Regarding research and development, I stay abreast of the current literature relevant to our product, prepare and submit grants as the PI for non-dilutive funding, and work with the design team in developing our novel medical product.

Performed my PhD research through the Children's Mercy Hospital. My work focused on heart valve tissue engineering. Specifically, characterizing the effects of decellularization on valve grafts and working to increase their subsequent recellularization.

Assisted a graduate student in her research on blood clot homeostasis using microfluidic flow assays. Specifically I worked on developing a polymer to simulate the release of nitric oxide from endothelial cells.

Worked in the Environmental Division on ground water remediation. I helped to develop a prototype for a groundwater flow compass.
