I was hired on with Nova Chemicals to join the Commissioning team, once the expansion construction was close to Mechanical Completion. My position with Nova Chemicals transitioned from the Commissioning aspect of this Petrochemical Plant, to Operations. I am currently working full time, Production/Manufacturing Operations. The team I am currently a part of, at Nova Chemicals, are responsible for Manufacturing Linear Low Density Polyethylene (L.L.D.P) Pellets.

During the Commissioning phase of the expansion within this Petrochemical Plant, the Operations worked closely with various Contractors, Sub-Contractors, and Trades to ensure target dates for completion were met Safely. The Operations day-to-day tasks included Safe Work Permits, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space Entry Permits, Safe Work Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Contingency Reports, and SQRA's. These were just some of the tools utilized to ensure the Construction and Commissioning phases were executed effectively, efficiently and safely. Once the Commissioning was complete, and this Expansion shifted to a live plant, I moved into an Operations Position. I am currently outside Operator Qualified in both Products areas, and Control Panel Qualified in 1/2 areas. Projecting to be Control Panel Qualified in both areas, early 2018.

Installed (D.S.R.O) Downhole to Surface Read-out systems. Analyzed pressure changes due to same zone, downhole tests. Completed post test reports that were sent directly to various disciplines, within the company. Perforating and Fracing were the most common tests we monitored . Working directly with Slick-line, E-line trucks, as well as Service Rigs to run our testing equipment downhole. Also installed more complex D.S.R.O systems, that enabled Specific disciplines to watch the testing in real-time. The Oil and Gas companies that hired us as contractors, seen the value in this specific system, because they didn’t have to be on location to watch the testing for real-time data.
