In this role I took ownership of certain areas of our product from a development point of view, and was responsible for ensuring that planning, elaboration, development & testing activities for these areas were all under control and completed successfully. Additionally I also acted as an overflow development resource and picked up pieces of work that were either considered high priority or that the development teams didn't have capacity for. I also acted as a member of small work groups focused on identifying and resolving key issues within our product, providing an engineering perspective on things and performing the development work required where possible.

In my role at Unit4 I worked as part of a small team focusing on localisation aspects of student management software working with a tech stack of C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, NHibernate & Javascript. Played an important role in delivering key new features from scratch while also being involved in refactoring legacy code to fit the updated needs of the solution. Gained experience of demonstrating solutions both internally & externally, and also stepped in to cover team lead activities on occasion.

In myt role at CGI I worked as a Support Analyst where I dealt with any issues that arose on the applications I support on a day to day basis and work to prevent future issues from occurring. Aside from this I was also involved in some development projects on the side, working either solo or as part of a two man team to create tools for internal use, primarily using C# & ASP.NET MVC 5 as well as HTML, CSS & Javascript.I have also been involved in a national rollout of a new system, travelling to client sites around the country to interact with clients, conduct surveys and install new systems.

I spent the summer of 2013 working in the office of Western Power Distribution. During my time there I performed a wide variety of duties including production of work plans & files, data entry, some manual work (such as assisting in the unloading of deliveries) and general administrative duties such as filing and answering phones. This job helped me gain valuable experience of working in a busy work environment and experiencing the pressure of needing to produce quality work by a deadline. I also spent a lot of time working as part of a team, as well as working alone on occasion, doing both effectively. At the end of my time with the company, I was told that they were very satisfied with the work I had done, showing that I was able to produce work of a professional standard.
