- Supporting the development of credible, evidence-based policy solutions and draft internal and external policy briefings, position statements, reports, consultation submissions and articles/blogs. - Engaging in daily political monitoring to see if any policy changes has an impact on the work of the organisation.- Supporting the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to lead our influencing work, in collaboration with the Scotland Head of Services and other key Marie Curie departments.- Building relationships with and influencing policy makers and other key external stakeholders, including health and social care leaderships, other charities, think tanks and academics, in order to develop and deliver policy change.- Gathering, analysing and disseminating information about external policy developments and their implications for Marie Curie and the people that we represent. - Working with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to deliver key tasks in relation to Marie Curie’s campaigns including: correspondence with parliamentarians; promoting key campaign outputs; monitoring campaign success; updating web content; using e-campaigning software; and liaising with internal colleagues on joint campaign projects. - Leading work on specific policy issues, engaging with stakeholders and representing the charity at events and as part of coalitions and undertaking relevant legislative work across the UK. - Liaising with local and national news outlets through press releases submissions to promote upcoming events or views from the organisation on specific subject matter. - Supporting the delivery of public affairs plans based on policy priorities and effectiveness, building relationships with external partners and coalitions, other charities, government officials as well as with MSPs, MPs, peers and other elected representatives as required. - Providing project and administrative support to both the Policy and Public Affairs team and the Public Relations team.
