I am a servant leader with 25 years of senior leadership experience in managing large campus facilities operations. My career started as a maintenance technician and quickly led to managing teams with a strong focus on creating and maintaining positive internal/external customer experiences, a super power I’ve maintained and grown as I’ve grown as a leader and key utility in facilities operations roles. I maintain a high bar for my own performance and expect the same in return from the professionals I have had the privilege of leading and working among. Here is what I’ve learned about myself in working in these unique environments: The key to successful change management is separating it into short-term strategies to implement changes quickly while ensuring employees are comfortable with those changes.  I enjoy building, leading and mentoring high-performance teams. I trust my gut instincts but nothing beats data from the people who benefit from your product or service. I believe protocol and a supportive culture are essential for high-performing teams. My teams are consistently recognized for high-quality performance because I take care to cultivate respect and collaboration. I am a proponent of the service profit chain philosophy. Customer service starts with good staffing and treatment of one’s own employees. Good communication doesn’t happen in a silo.
