Geode hunting – not the typical hunting experience enjoyed by a grandson and grandfather. While the prey was far less lively than a buck or pheasant, the crystals revealed within the hearts of those geodes ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in geology. Working as a team with my grandfather to identify the outwardly rough and dirt-covered stones taught me that even the ugliest situations can produce beautiful results. Nowadays I draw upon those early experiences in the creek beds of northeast Missouri as I work with skilled teammates to investigate and tackle our clients’ toughest environmental challenges. No site is beyond remediation and everyone deserves to live in a safe environment – you just need the right team with the right expertise to focus those remediation hammer strikes and get to the heart of the geode!
