Currently I am an Electrical Engineer (P.Eng), possessing a dynamic set of skills! I do not limit myself to what is routine or what is comfortable. I get out there and learn! Just because my specialty is in Electrical Engineering, this does not stop me from learning other fields of engineering such as the Civil and Mechanical side. I quickly adapt to any work environment and take the time to understand how my work area functions.I am very much a visual and hands-on learner. I am always seeking opportunities to learn, and have unique and innovative projects on the go. Constantly, I am finding ways to retrofit automotive parts from newer vehicles to older vehicles to see for myself how these new technologies work. I pursue the most efficient ways to conduct my work, as time is valuable; not to mention staying within budget is very important to make any project successful. I posses entrepreneurial qualities, finding different ways to efficiently make an income as a student. I have done this through automotive vinyl wrapping, wrapping client vehicle body panels according to their requests, and working with their busy schedules.

Summer Student - Building Electrical DesignSmp Engineering May 2013 - Aug 2013Calgary, Canada AreaI received an excellent opportunity to showcase my knowledge from school as an electrical engineering student!**Accomplishments & Projects** -----------------------------------------------AutoCAD was used for 90% of the work I did with SMP Engineering. For three months, I worked on a very large project, making critical revisions/updates for the Calgary South Health Campus.*Project Goal*:Make critical revisions/updates for all electrical systems associated with the South Health Campus*How I Achieved This*:Took the time to review the building layout through large printed drawings. Once I was familiar with the floor layouts and different medical departments, I was able to apply my electrical systems knowledge. I made revisions to the following electrical systems:- Telecom (Data)- Power (Conduits, breakers, transformers)My first couple of months working with SMP Engineering really polished my AutoCAD skills. I worked through thousands of drawings, making detailed revisions to each according to SMP Engineering's standards.*Outcome*The South Health Campus electrical drawings became up to date. These drawings are now easily accessible in their new modernized digital form. This eliminated the need for paper-based drawing, keeping the project content easily transferable and organized.**Additional Tasks & Responsibilities**---------------------------------------------------------I took the skills and knowledge from my ENEL 519.03 - Special Topics Course: Building Electrical Design and applied them to my everyday work at SMP Engineering. This involved sizing various electrical systems/components such as:- conduit- breakers- panel schedules- lighting designDetail really matters, especially since there are various different ways to design these systems. It’s a matter of designing them with efficiency and practicality in mind. All of my work was done under the supervision of Professional Engineers and Certified Electrical Engineer Technologists.

Building Operator Summer StudentBentall Kennedy Jun 2012 - Aug 2012Calgary, Canada AreaI became part of an incredible team of building operators for the Sheldon M. Chumir Medical Centre and Calgary Board of Education Corporate Office!**Accomplishments & Projects** -----------------------------------------------I earned the respect of my fellow operators and the chief engineers quickly because of my dynamic and genuine personality. As a result of this hard earned respect, I was privileged with a unique opportunity to take charge of a project specific to the Sheldon M. Chumir building. *Project Goal*:To reduce the total electrical energy consumption of the medical center. *How I Achieved This*:By meeting with 41 different medical departments, I clarified individual department operating hours and reviewed the Douglas low voltage lighting relay system. I then grouped the relays by department and programmed their operational hours. *Outcome*:I managed to reduce the total electrical energy consumption of the Sheldon M. Chumir Medical Center by 3%.3% may not seem like a big deal, but when you take into account the size of the facility being around 300,000 square feet, with 12 floors and multiple departments requiring energy 24/hrs day, every bit of energy saving is critical. This 3% in energy savings resulted in thousands of dollars saved every year!**Additional Tasks & Responsibilities**--------------------------------------------------------I conducted daily inspections for each mechanical room. This required many hands-on tasks such as:- HVAC belt replacement- AHU, boiler pump & exhaust fan filter replacement- Lamp replacement- Elevator maintenance Conducting these tasks demonstrated how polished my practical skills are. Even though I did not encompass the same level of experience as my colleagues, I still taught them more efficient means of operating on these machines as a product of my automotive experience.I always bring new ideas to the table and get people thinking in different ways!
