Mitchell Hammer is a Vice President/General Manager at Allied Partners Residential Management. Colleagues describe him as "Mitch Hammer is the most outstanding and longest serving General Manager that ever held the position at Rivercross, a 365 unit coop on Roosevelt Island. I say that as the former 16 year president of the board of directors. I was instrumental in hiring him many years ago and would again were I still in position to do so. He comes as close as you can get to being indispensable. It will be very difficult to find a replacement that combines his consummate professionalism, people skills, leadership qualities and communication abilities, not to mention the institutional memory that will go with him when he retires. He also possesses the most important quality of all: common sense. That is not something you learn, you either have it or you don’t. There is something else that is absolutely essential for someone in his position, and I cannot stress this enough: he never plays politics with the board or shareholders and maintains an evenhanded unbiased relationship with contractors and vendors. He is candid, transparent, honest and forthright, never reluctant to state his opinions when called upon and advocate for them if he believes he is right. By the same token he is also willing to admit mistakes—we all make them—and not take offense. Throughout his tenure he maintained an excellent working relationship with the board of directors, the shareholders and those who reported to him. It is an understatement to say that he will be missed by the Rivercross community that he served so well. John Weatherhead" and "I’ve worked with Mitch for 20 years.
