Assisting in the creation of a portable, single-user, VR flight simulator with a 6 DOF motion base. This simulator provides all the benefits of a VR motion base simulator without the drawbacks of being huge, incredibly expensive, and impossible to move. This simulator is duplicatable and travels around to be used in training facilities, at conventions, and wherever else it might be needed.

Creating a VR simulation atop a MOOG motion platform where guests will be able to experience the final approach of a space shuttle. This position's responsibilities include writing physics, gameplay, and a UDP packet structure that controls motion to make the user truly feel that they are flying a space shuttle.

Currently, VR trainers designed for pilots are missing a key component in training: muscle memory. Since trainees must use controllers to interact with the simulation, they're not interacting in the way they actually would on the job. This can lead to a lot of problems that end up making it even more difficult to complete training.This research project tackled the problem of getting a VR trainer to give the user muscle memory. In order to do this, there must be physical components of the simulation that the user can interact with exactly as they would on the job. Using a Leap Motion, HTC Vive, and a physical "cockpit panel" I was able to calibrate all of these to come up with a solution that makes training feel natural and accurate.
