Mitchell House is a technically-focused engineer working with the City of Ottawa on the Electric Vehicle Strategy. He has conducted research around the health and environmental benefits of electric vehicles, presented at conferences related to sustainable technologies, conducted grass-roots research on the effectiveness of community engagement towards developing sustainable neighbourhoods, and the reporting the potential of innovative technologies to decision makers to advance their deployment.Mitchell has also participated in proposal reviews of several technology-related granting programs at the Federal and Provincial Level. Federally, Mitchell was a member of the review team for the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Demonstrations, and provincially supported the Municipal Challenge Fund, the Low-Carbon Innovation Fund, Partners in Climate Action, and the Global Market Acceleration Fund.Mitchell continues to develop his skills in research and analysis, and has a keen interest in technological innovation. The OIP program provided Mitchell with an opportunity to develop skills in critical thinking, research and analysis, while also allowing him to pursue his interests in innovations such as electric vehicles, 5G technology and connected cities, and systems planning for a more sustainable City.
