• Short Summary: I’m a USCG Licensed Captain, Unlimited Dynamic Positioning Officer (DPO), Ice Navigator and Marine Consultant. • Long Summary: Welcome, I’m here is to connect with colleagues, mariners and friends from around the world. All my adult life I've been involved with the marine industry. I started out working on the back deck of a Bering Sea fishing trawler, working my way up “through the hawsepipe” to earn my USCG Master’s license. Most of my career has been spent operating Bering Sea factory trawlers. And related to that, I pioneered and helped develop a U.S. Antarctic krill fishery, becoming the first U.S. commercial Antarctic trawl fisherman. During that time, I served for three years as a U.S. Department of State delegate to CCAMLR (Committee for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, based in Hobart, Australia). In addition to operating vessels from the Arctic to Antarctica, I've worked in corporate management as Operations Manager, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. Currently I'm working as a Captain and DPO in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
