Chevron Gorgon and Wheatstone ProjectsDOF Subsea was awarded a long term Precommissioning and Inspection, Maintenance and Repair contract on the Gorgon and Wheatstone Projects in late 2014. I have been involved on the project since its inception and have worked 7 x 1 month offshore swings on DOF's vessels during this time, providing assistance during mobilisations and offshore operations.• Offshore works included pigging, drying and dewatering, mattress and grouting installation, pressure testing and flying lead installations.• Onshore works included structural and seafastening design, tooling basket design and analysis, safety assessment sessions, project scheduling, tendering documents, procurement and logistics to support offshore works. I also undertook a 3 month HSE secondment solidifying my knowledge of the safety processes and considerations involved in planning and executing offshore works with inherent risks present.• Further developed time management abilities, interpersonal skills and developed practical solutions to real problems.The project has introduced me to many industry practices and furthered my abilities to work in a heavily team-based environment. With many different departments onboard, I've learnt that the engineer's role is not only to come up with solutions, but also to be able to effectively communicate these to others with and without technical backgrounds.

DeGrussa Copper ProjectForge Group was awarded the design, procurement and management of a copper concentrator.• Worked with the engineering team on the design of the project in the office and requested to go on site to assist team during works.• Assisted in activities including testing safety equipment, commissioning of jaw crusher motors and inventorying pipe and other equipment.• Exposed to entire plant and refinery process, seeing how it operated from extraction to processing, acquiring invaluable technical and safety knowledge.Air Receiver Calculator• Created Excel document which allowed the automatic output of a required receiver given a set of user entered parameters from stored catalogues• Required learning Visual Basic and significant research into air receivers and pipe flow, adding and refining features as the calculator became more sophisticated• The calculator significantly reduced the time required to select a receiver and was successfully used on later projects
