I also am responsible for the network infrastructure of our lab where we conduct POC and future technologies. Key ProjectsDesign, POC for IPv6 Network – Currently designing and budgeting to move one of our existing networks to IPv6. Currently gathering inventory, IPv6 compatibility information and starting testing of NAT64 and DNS64 technologies. Metro Optical – led the design and implementation of a Cisco Optical DWDM Network in a fully redundant ring design to allow for network connectivity to all of Cerner’s KC Metro Area campuses and data centers. Also, heavily involved in the design, and implementation of the dark fiber plant that to ensure diverse path and entry. WAN Tech Refresh – tested and set standards and documented hosted client-side network stack hardware and configuration. Assisted operational team in rolling out new hardware and resolving any issues with first few clients. IPv6 Lab – built the network infrastructure to emulate our data center pod to allow for testing of Cerner software in pure IPv6 environment. This included routing IPv6 within BGP on the Cisco ASR9k platform and testing NAT64 capabilities on F5 BigIP platform. Lab Network Core – built the network infrastructure in our lab to duplicate a production data center pod. This includes the traditional Cisco Nexus 5/6k FabricPath and the 9k ACI switching platforms and the Cisco ASR 9k for aggregation and core routing. Currently still maintain and troubleshoot environment. As well as assist in setting testing and POC for new network, compute, or storage technologies and architectures.

Voicemail Migration: Migration from Cisco Unity to Unity Connection for 4,000 users.
