Various Electrical & Communication projects around the South East QLD Area ranging from Domestic Housing, Commercial Fit-outs and Industrial Installation and Maintenance Duties: • Report to the Project Manager.• Work in a team of 2 - 8 varying from Electricians, Apprentices and Trade Assistants.• Ensured all relevant documentation, inspections, and test certificates are completed and recorded to comply with regulations. • Work most closely with the Project Manager, Electricians and Apprentices.

Hay Point Coal Terminal Conveyor Upgrade Project

Re-Commissioning of Gregory Mine Coal Handling Preparation Plant• Report to the Leading Hands and Site Supervisors.• Work in a team of 2 - 10, consisting of other Electricians and Trade Assistants.• QA/QC of plant that has been sitting dormant for 4 years. Tests included motor testing, cable testing (LV and ELV), field device inspections, field junction box and isolator inspections.• Ensure all relevant QA/QC documentation is filled in correctly for ease of reporting to the engineering team to initiate next stage checks or if rectification works need to be completed. • Removal of redundant services and rectification works on existing plant.

Rio Tinto Amrun Project - Construction of the processing facility.Duties: • Reported to the Site Supervisor's and Superintendents. • Worked in a team of up to 30, which included Leading Hand's, Electricians and Trade Assistants.• Worked closely with the Site Supervisors and the Leading Hands. • Carried out daily JHA Sign on and modifications, Start Cards and Permit Isolation and Lockout Sign On's.• Carried out permit requests as well as site isolation and lock out’s as an Isolation Officer and Responsible Person• Participated in toolbox meetings and ensured adherence to Safe Work standards.• Carried out HV Transformer, HV Cable install and prep work for HV underground to overhead Line install.• Carried out installation design. • Carried out As built conduit design in the plant for missed areas during initial design.• Carried out Switchboard Terminations, including Terminations in the field and in the substations when required. Main achievement:• Got the plant and conveyor sections I was in charge of handed over to the QA team prior to a very close dead line with a small and stretched team. Also expanded my knowledge of heavy industrial and learning a lot about the instrumentation side of the project.

Owen Springs Power Station UpgradeDuties: • Report to the Leading Hands and the Site Supervisor, whilst working in a team of up to 10 Electricians. • Attended daily tool box meetings and prestart’s.• Attended weekly JHA's and Take 5 per Task. Main achievement:• Completing large cable tray install, cable pulling and cable glanding while in a very restricted confined space.

Duties:• Report to the Project Manager.• Supervised personnel ranging in crews of 3 - 10 Electricians.• Work in a team of in excess of 15 Electricians. • Wrote daily reports.• Assisted Engineers, Senior Management and the Principal Contractor with any queries they had.• Planning and scheduling.Main achievement:• De Vere Wotton House - 1st project I've done from start to finish. Great to see the change in this fantastic old building. Selfridges - Dealing with the technical challenges of working in a 120 year old building and dealing with other subcontractors.

Tate Modern Expansion Project:Cable InstallationsCable Tray Installations

Duties: • Reported to the Site Foreman and the Project Manager.• Ensured all relevant documentation, inspections, and test certificates are completed and recorded to comply with regulations. • Carried out repairs and maintenance.• Cabling and installations, Power and Communications.Main achievement:• Finishing my apprenticeship beginning my first year as a tradesmen. Also gathered some initial contract management experience.

Electrical Safety Office's Apprentice ProgramA program which is set up by the government to promote electrical safety within the electrical industry and the community. Training provided included: Roles of an ESO Inspector,  Use and understanding of the various Australian standards,  Electrical Installation Testing Procedures and their use in ESO investigations,  Electrical Safety and promotion of correct safety procedures in the industry and the community.3 weeks was spent training with different inspectors at Electrogroup Training. A further 3 weeks was spent with the ESO inspectors learning how they do their job to make sure installations are done to the correct standards.
