As an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Florida Non-Traditional Manufacturing Lab, I focused on assisting a doctoral candidate by conducting surface analysis of Yttrium Aluminum Garnet laser crystals for use in high-powered laser applications using Scanning White Light Interferometry. I also assisted in the development of new equipment for the measurement of experimental parameters.

As a teaching assistant for an introductory level mechanical engineering course, I assist in ensuring that the students in the class firmly grasp the subject and have the foundation they need to continue to succeed in their engineering coursework. I hold office hours where students can receive help and clarification on homework, as well as give constructive feedback on submitted assingments so that students know where they are strong and where they need to improve.

As a STAR mentor, I work with the UF STAR office to organize programs and activities designed to enrich and teach the STEPUP participants. I act as a liaison between corporate sponsors and the program in order to coordinate corporate speakers and tours. I attend some of the classes that are part of the program and act as a Teaching Assistant, grading papers and assisting in lecture. I also live in the resident hall with the STEPUP participants and act as a Resident Assistant, resolving conflicts and enforcing policies outlined in the Student Conduct Code.

As an Area Specialist, I was one of the primary contacts for visitors to the Alligator Point area. I communicated via email, phone, mail, and in person to provide them with area information. As a Property Management Assistant, I was one of those responsible for overseeing routine and emergency maintenance on rental properties. I was also responsible for assisting guests in making reservations and payments.
