Additional Responsibilities Include:Technical reviewing of factual data obtained by colleagues during site works, in particular borehole/trial pit logs, to ensure compliance with current industry standards, as well as reviewing subsequent interpretive reporting including both contaminated land risk assessments and geotechnical designs within. The preparation of competitive fee/cost proposals and tender documents for prospective clients/works, as well as subsequent project management, involving organising contractors, liaising with clients and assisting junior colleagues with any queries or problems that arise during the site works. Responsible for maintaining the company’s technical documentation and information libraries, creating new in-house technical software/spreadsheet tools, as well as continuing to assist in managing IT infrastructure. Provide assistance to the company directors in maintaining the ISO 45001 standards, including organising/attending management meetings and internal audits relating to the health and safety system as well as assisting with ‘site inspections/audits’ or junior staff.

Additional responsibilities include:Factual and interpretive report writing to the requirements of regulatory authorities, as well as providing geotechnical design recommendations including foundation, pavement and drainage design in accordance with British Standards, Eurocode 7 and NHBC/LABC guidance. The preparation of Construction Phase Plans (CPP) in accordance with CDM regulations prior to site works, as well as responsibility for organising welfare facilities and other site work ancillaries. Dialogue with clients before and after site works, as well as liaising with regulatory bodies and organising subcontractors/analytical laboratories. Assisted with the set-up and migration from HoleBASE SI to OpenGround Cloud, including generating new borehole log templates on OpenGround Template Studio.

Responsible for the production of Phase I Desk Studies, involving review of available factual information and previous site investigation reports, to develop conceptual site models to establish whether any potentially unacceptable risks are associated with the site. Supervised Phase II Ground Investigations to establish ground conditions to inform foundation design as well as to refine conceptual site models and quantify risks associated with contaminated land. Subsequent monitoring of sites using ground gas and surface gas monitoring techniques, as well as the collection of groundwater samples using a groundwater inertial sampling pump. Data management and digitisation using HoleBASE SI and TurboCAD.

Police accredited traffic officer under the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS), involved in directing and controlling traffic movement on public highways, including enforcing road closures or diversions.

Worked as a Geo-Environmental Consultant on various contaminated land and geotechnical projects, combining intrusive site investigation works with interpretive report writing. This included: Production of Phase I Desk Studies and Phase II Geo-Environmental Assessments to investigate and quantify risks associated with contaminated land, as well as providing geotechnical data to inform project design. Managing sites during intrusive investigations, typically involving trial pitting, window sampling and the installation/ subsequent monitoring of boreholes using low-flow groundwater sampling and ground gas monitoring techniques.
