Currently, I work as a data analyst for the Center of Autism Research (CAR) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I hadn't studied ASD previous to working at CAR, but because I studied behavioral economics and data manipulation they opted to take a chance on me and I was hired. Now, I get to work directly with scientists and help with their development of breakthrough ASD research. I build web-based instruments for data collection, pipeline & warehouse data for multiple studies, and perform data pulls for scientists based on their specifications: which often includes the production of highly complex data tables consisting of data pooled from multiple tables. My personal projects include the utilization of R, GIS, and data visualization platforms to scrape, wrangle, and present data for both American and International football. I chose to study American football because I already know a lot about the game and have found it to be an ideal environment for scientific research. I have already made considerable progress developing interesting ways to manipulate and display data, and have raised some fascinating theories about the game itself that I’d like to eventually research. As a result I’m currently looking for any relatable part-time work and/or to go back to school to pursue a graduate’s degree in statistics in order to research said theories.
