Built integration and referral partnerships to drive distribution/growth and enhance the customer experience

The National Hockey League (NHL) is the world’s premier professional ice hockey league, a $3+ billion business with 30 clubs in the US and Canada. The three-person team I worked with is responsible for financial and strategic analysis of business operations, financial reporting and controls, and corporate strategy and negotiations. While at the NHL, I analyzed club data on ticketing, premium seating, and sponsorships and advised one team on how to improve these business operations. Additionally, I helped develop the frameworks for the NHL’s Industry Growth Fund ($60 million central fund for revenue-growth and efficiency projects) and business plan review, new features of the 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

SmartLife is a startup company selling water and nutrition/hygiene products to the urban poor through 2 retail stores.During my four week project, I worked to determine the customer value proposition through 26 customer and 9 employee interviews. I also recommended optimal strategies for pricing, marketing, delivery, staffing, and locations for new stores by building 5-year financial models and analyzing sales data.

Lindsay Goldberg is a leading multi-industry investment firm focused on private equity with approximately $10 billion under management. The firm has a long-term focus and partners with family and entrepreneurial businesses. In my role, I evaluated numerous new investment opportunities from a financial, strategic and operational perspective which led to one platform investment and three add-on acquisitions. Throughout my tenure, I directed third party advisors and led extensive due diligence processes. Additionally, I built many analyses to direct and assist portfolio companies.Representative work included beverage distribution, retail and fast-moving consumer goods, industrials, healthcare (pharmaceutical and supplements)

Rothschild is a leading global investment bank providing independent financial restructuring advisory services to management and boards of multi-national corporations in distressed situations. I worked with a small team to provide advisory services to companies in distressed situations. In my analyst role, I performed recapitalization, covenant, liquidity, leverage buyout, comparable valuation and discounted cash flow analyses. Additionally, I constructed models and analyses to evaluate operational performance, financial health, valuation and bankruptcy impact. Representative work included Blockbuster (entertainment/retail), VeraSun Energy (ethanol), Tronox (chemicals) and Neenah Foundry (industrials).
