Currently employed as a web tech at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, I would describe myself as a Multimedia Technical Communication Specialist. I have a degree in Technical Illustration and I'm certified as a professional Technical Writer. I worked in the mechanical engineering field for about twelve years, creating drawings, authoring technical manuals and constructing interactive multimedia product guides. In 2000, I completed a one-year certification program in multimedia design at Portland Community College. After that, I started working at MHCC, where I now create Web design layouts and produce online learning objects, including graphics, animation, and audio/video presentations. I'm also a part-time faculty member at MHCC, teaching evening computer classes. Most popular are my series of PhotoShop classes offered through the Community Education department. In 2005, I became an Education Specialist with eBay University and began teaching another series of classes to show budding entrepreneurs how to build their own small business selling on eBay. (I've been selling on eBay since 1998 and am co-owner of an eBay Store. I'm a Power Seller and an eBay Prefered Seller.) It's been very rewarding for me to watch so many people find independence by taking my classes and starting their own businesses. I've trained hundreds of people and have become the highest rated eBay University instructor in the state of Oregon.In addition to all of this, when I can find the time, I also do freelance work in the fields of technical writing, Web design and illustration. I specialize in taking lots of techinical information, organizing it and breaking it down into digestible chunks, and then enhancing it with explanitory diagrams and animations.My favorite pastime is an orienteering-related hobby called letterboxing.
