Successfully lead a team of managers in the budgeting, forecasting, risk management, cash management and other specific finance functions. The Unification Agency is successfully bringing together the Alberta Institute of Chartered Accountants (CAs), the Alberta Society of Management Accountants (CMAs) and the Certified General Accountants of Alberta (CGAs) to form one accounting body within Alberta. Received highly positive Board feedback on an extensive Organizational Risk Framework. This allows Executive, Board and Audit Committee members to continually focus on areas with the greatest impact and consequence.  Initiated and developed 12 financial management and other risk related policies. Made significant advancement towards a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan to ensure that operations of the AAUA are never unnecessarily disrupted.  At a senior level, contributed to the quarterly financial analysis, reporting and forecasting for an organization with over 150 staff members and a $50MM operating and capital budget.

Modernized and successfully initiated progressive financial management methodologies and processes for a major national arts organization. Over 6 years, directly contributed to a 31% growth in annual revenues ($9.6MM to $12.6MM).Canada’s second largest ballet company is now run, from financial and operational perspectives, in a highly effective manner. By the time of my departure, the Ballet had built a solid Net Asset position ensuring continued sustainability while providing an important cultural experience throughout Canada.

Successfully reached out to several hundred prospective candidates at the post secondary and workforce levels. Supervised and supported two recruitment professionals in their goals to build the designation.

 Effectively lead the accounting and financing function of this leading medium sized software development company.  Working with the Executive Team and to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, modernized and updated numerous accounting and finance processes. Provided ongoing internal and external financial reporting. Acted as primary liaison between corporation and external auditors.  Was granted responsibility for all HR related matters including employment commencement and termination processes, payroll, benefits, stock option agreements and bonuses.

 Developed and controlled operating budgets in excess of $2.5BN in assets resulting in $48.3MM in Contribution. Analyzed variances and built models of current and 5 year financial projections. Successfully enhanced and upgraded online measurement and tracking mechanisms.
