Intersouth is an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in technology and life science companies across the Southeast. Founded in 1985, Intersouth manages $780 million in seven venture capital limited partnerships, making it the largest venture capital fund in North Carolina and one of the largest in the Southeast.

I teach a course on venture capital titled "Valuation and Deal Structure." The course covers topics including an introduction to venture capital, analysis of company capitalization, new investment evaluation and negotiation of deal terms and structure. Students are exposed to real life situations including Intersouth portfolio company CEO's as guest speakers. I also co-teach, with Randy Myer, a mentored internship where business students are placed in VC firms and angel funds to learn about early stage investing.

Responsible for all financial functions at fast growing hardware and software vendor, including financial reporting and projections, cash management, customer leasing, inventory management and HR.
