As a rehab innovation specialist, I am working to improve and expand the assistive technology services and resources for our staff, patients, and community. My current projects include: an experience center for patients to try and learn about assistive devices, a database to track demo devices across multiple clinics, a resource center to collaborate and find patient handouts, and using automation to improve our current processes.

I have been a producer, host, and editor of a YouTube channel since 2017 and producing content since 2013. During this time, I've worked with a small team and have taken the lead on generating ideas, forming scripts, recording audio and video of people both local and remote, editing the audio and video, creating necessary graphics for the videos, and publishing the videos to multiple platforms. I have also learned to expedite the process by creating templates for the scripts and videos to make recurring series shorter to produce.In the producer role I create, script, and edit the videos, which includes a weekly video/podcast that has run over 80 weeks. The other main series is The Tartiflette Games, which is an e-sports version of the X-Games. I created the rules, judging format, scoring system, and layout of the videos, and listen closely to the community to plan out future events. These videos often involve many different guests, which requires providing coordination and direction to the team. I am involved with our community of over 100 players, and work to create challenges, take feedback, and include them in our process as much as possible.I am the only video editor for our channel and have been editing gaming content for eight years. I am well versed in the Adobe suite of programs and use Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects to continually enhance our content. I have created many templates to increase the consistency and timeliness of our videos. I also take the role of host, where I provide commentary to the events, interview guests, and present information about the game.

Captain of both a 15 passenger pedal boat and an 18 passenger party pontoon on the Pittsburgh rivers. An assistive technology professional (ATP) is a service provider who analyzes the technology needs of people with disabilities and helps them select and use adaptive devices. Assistive Technology Professionals at National Seating & Mobility facilitate the evaluation of client’s needs to appropriate rehabilitation products including power wheelchairs and custom seating, as directed by the client’s therapist and/or physician. ATPs work in conjunction with the client, therapist, and physician to ensure that: the chosen product adequately meets the client’s medical needs, medical justification is present before products are provided, and that insurance benefits and coverage are clearly expressed to clients prior to provision of the desired product. These products include, but are not limited to: wheelchairs, scooters, seating and positioning products, ambulatory aids, gait trainers, standers, hygiene, transferring, and various other assistive devices.

During my graduate degree, I was a researcher on a telehealth project focusing on seating and mobility. I was tasked with doing client interviews, usability testing, and equipment evaluations. I was also trusted to conduct follow up interviews and manage the database. I provided weekly updates on the project to the entire team and wrote my thesis and presented the results on this study. My research compared the clients' functional outcome scores of receiving a wheelchair through a telehealth evaluation versus a traditional evaluation and explored the reasons why scores may differ. My article was published in the International Journal of Telerehabilitation in 2020.I worked on the continuing education team where I was trusted to create and teach a program on adaptive video gaming and smart home technology for people with disabilities. I was able to teach this program to current students and professionals in the field, and presented an hour long session on adaptive gaming at the International Seating Symposium in 2019, the largest educational conference on wheelchairs and assistive technologies. This presentation focused on showing adaptive gaming to the industry and focused on the current controllers, adaptive devices, and the options that game developers create to make video games more accessible.

Present and run hands-on demos about adaptive video gaming on Xbox, PC, and PS4 to students and professionals in the assistive technology industry. I have created several Powerpoints and guides on adaptive gaming, and work closely with the disability community to help people get into gaming. I presented an hour long seminar on adaptive gaming at the 35th International Seating Symposium, with the crowd consisting of clinicians, therapists, users, doctors, educators, and assistive technology professionals.

Conducted user interviews and observations while they tested an application that aimed to increase the accessibility of smart home and gaming devices. Created the questionnaire to be used during these tests, including different question formats to include both qualitative and quantitative data.Canvassed the current market of devices and products for persons with a disability, and inputted the data to a database that collected all relevant information such as the activity of daily living it assisted, price point, possible funding sources, and primary disabilities served.Interviewed persons with a disability to find out their current methods of interacting with technology, their difficulties with using certain devices, and their wishes of technology to help them in the future.

As a captain, I was responsible for the operation of an amphibious vehicle and for the safety of the passengers, while following the protocols of the company and the coast guard. I was trusted to be responsible, dependable, knowledgeable, and calm at all times. I was also required to have strong communication skills in order to effectively talk with other captains, deckhands, and the coast guard. As a tour guide, I was required to provide an informative, intriguing and whimsical tour of the city of Pittsburgh. I gave up to six hour-long tours each day, and was able to consistently be entertaining and keep the guests' attention. Responsibilities include: incorporating the mission of Just Ducky Tours to offer a fun and unique way to see the great city of Pittsburgh.
