Intelligent and Pro-active SupportComprehensive system and process knowledge allows for an accurate timely response and the ability to foresee upcoming issues. This has allowed myself to co-author ISO documents, review procedures and create solutions to problems before they arise.I’ve gained in-depth knowledge of the SCADA and highways management systems and its related components in a short time and can pass that knowledge on via written and spoken communication. I have a ‘knack’ for learning and technology.I can implement technical projects with foresight and contingency and I am aware of causes and implications of decisions and actions.Analytical CommunicationPresentation to the business, of data relating to litigation cases and interviews under caution together with the interpretation of that data in a manner that can be understood. Liaise with customers and colleagues alike on technical issues from upper management to engineers to the lay public.I collect and interpret data for managers and principle scientists and look beneath the data to infer possible scenarios for consent failures, we can then look to find ways of minimising future risk of failure. There is often a large communication gap between users and IT staff, I have the ability to liaise at both levels, understanding the requirements and getting the information across effectively.Approachable and Flexible StylePresentable and accessible, I am the usual first point of contact for technical issues. My ability to network people and make good working relationships means that our customers receive what they require in the way they desire and with the required timeframe.I do pick up a lot of knowledge and incorporate everything I know to resolve issues, good relationships and good information allow for excellent interaction and superior solutions.Specialties: Analytical problem solver, Innovative, with the ability to see new directions and viewpoints, a proven ability to learn new systems and technology and quickly excel with seven years of proven engineering support within the water and highways industries.

My role here in DCC revolves around the support of the WDM Highways Management Systems, more recently this has been specialized with the Street Lighting Management System. This includes the Customer Services System which I've had the privilege to develop as part of an improvement project in order to make the system more user friendly. I have been the main support role for 85+ mobile workers using Hp1100 series and Fujitsu ST5112 tablet PC's with mobile data cards, which involves travelling to sites to support the regionally based inspectors to troubleshoot and rectify any issues. I also assist in testing of new software which is updated frequently. In order to perform this role I have to be familiar with Windows OS, SQL server, Citrix technologies and the bespoke WDM software which I had to pickup in a short space of time. I have also spent a year with the Street lighting team where we've cleaned up the inventory - some 96000 units, corrected the energy inventory submission, implemented scouting on mobile pc's and integrated the Street lighting system with the Financial System which covers a yearly throughput of over £5m.
Here I retrieved data, created and configured reports to benchmark the customer service process. I've also configured and commissioned the Regional Scada system. I've used SQL, CorVu and Access to retrieve data. I have a limited knowledge of ColdFusion which I've used to retrieve data via the intranet and I have a level 3 advanced certificate in Excel. I liaise with in-house staff, engineers and contractors. I have also contacted and spoken with all levels of the business, the EA and external legal departments in order to retrieve report and understand data.
