Working as a Programme Manager for Virtual1 deploying large, complex network architecture development projects which are inter-related and form part of a continuous programme to improve and grow the Virtual1 core network and the ability to launch new market leading products.Acting as a conduit between Engineers, Senior Leadership Team and third-party vendors to ensure sustainable solutions are implemented. Additionally, as part of the role I lead cross-functional project teams who I infuse with motivation, direction and the tools to achieve performance objectives.

I manage contracts worth c£1.8m to provide operational services including Field Service, Stage & Configuration, Logistics and Inventory for client’s. As part of this I lead end-to-end project management on new installations or field based maintenance projects. I also oversee third party vendors, logistics providers and a cross-functional team of 35. As I manage Europe wide programmes I am a key contributor to Senior Management meetings and support the development of core business and growth strategies as well as refinement of the product proposition to attract clients. Key achievements within the role include negotiating cost-effective contracts with third party vendors and logistics providers across Europe, leading the full project life cycle delivery of 1600 DSL sites for a UK high street retailer and managing end-to-end delivery of 95 site dual homed CPE solution for UK based leisure firm. An example project I have led is managing the design and implementation of a voice over IP providers £10m UK wide network expansion to improve connectivity across UK within a six-month deadline. Another key project for a client was installing services across the top 50 cities in the US; for which I sourced a third party to provide all the field services and provided engineering and process documents so that third party engineers could deliver the clients bespoke requirements.

Led a cross-functional team of 4 to manage the UK/IRE wide Stage/Configuration operation for this European Telco provider. This fast-moving role involved the testing and configuring IP, SDH or Ethernet services as per customer defined SLA’s.

For this internal role, I built and commissioned CPE equipment included rack building and installation on customer sites, tested and configured Cisco routers and commissioned DWDM kit prior to network deployment.
