I am docent professor at Academy of Fine Arts and Design Ljubljana. University of Ljubljana.Working as professor and painter.🎨✍From 2004-23 i was self-employed as painter, supported by slovenian Ministry of Culture.In 2017 i started to give lecture in Academy of Fine Arts and Design Ljubljana. I live in Ljubljana, where i have studio, but very often i go somewhere abroad for a residency programme. For instance:i've rented studio in Leipzig's Spinnerei 8 Times. Mostly i went to LIA (Leipzig International Art) Programme. I love it. This generation of painters responded to the notion of “new” painting in very different ways – by, on the one hand, continuing the tradition of the postmodern deconstruction of the hermetic and exalted status of the art image, or on the other, establishing intermedial dialogues and incorporating mass-culture image-making and the pop aesthetic in their work. Ficko pursued a third way, one that, fully aware of the limitless game of signifiers, references, and recycling and still greatly influenced by the “new image,” was interested in creating intimate personal worlds, poetics, and stories."
