Mr Mitry is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal Free London with extensive sub-speciality expertise. His clinical interests are cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange with multifocal lenses, retinal surgery and general ophthalmology. He is an acclaimed, highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon who has performed thousands of eye operations with an exceptional level of success and patient satisfaction. He is also an accomplished academic ophthalmologist who has published over 50 research articles in leading Ophthalmic journals. He was awarded a PhD from the University of Edinburgh for his extensive work on the causes and outcomes of retinal detachment surgery. Mr Mitry has given many lectures nationally and has been an invited lecturer in Europe and the United States. He graduated with honours in surgery from Trinity College Dublin and completed his residency training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London where he was appointed as senior resident and fellow in vitreo-retinal surgery.
