I was the first person at the State Department to have such a position. In this role, I created and launched multiple new public-private partnerships designed to advance U.S. diplomatic and economic interests in South Asia, including mobile health initiatives in India; a national biometric ID program in Afghanistan; and promoting entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
